About prime 27:17
An Elite level baseball club for serious minded baseball families.
In 2018, after seventeen years of coaching youth baseball, including eight years as head coach at Shawnee Mission East, where he led the team to multiple KSHSAA 6A appearances, a 2016 State Championship title, earned Kansas Coach of the Year honors in both 2015 and 2016, and has had the privilege of coaching 7 future MLB picks, Coach Jerrod Ryherd set out to create a different kind of baseball club. His vision was to create a small, close-knit program comprised of dedicated athletes and families who share the desire and discipline to play more, train more and to ultimately achieve playing at their highest level possible.
Prime 27:17's philosophy is rooted in elevating youth training through intense attention to fundamentals, repetition and mental acuity. The club consists of passionate athletes, families, coaches, and certified trainers, all driven by and committed to this philosophy.
Players are challenged to become fierce athletes, staunch teammates, and ultimately great men and leaders. They hold themselves and each other to the highest standards, fostering accountability, resilience, and a strong work ethic.
The coaching and training staff brings immense experience, both as high level players and coaches, intensity, and professionalism. Focusing on a "One Family, One Team," mentality Prime 27:17 remains intentionally small, valuing chemistry and long-term growth together, all working together to support each other's development and success.
Beyond athletic performance, Prime 27:17 instills values of family, loyalty, accountability, perseverance, and teamwork. Inspired by Proverbs 27:17 "As iron sharpens iron, so one man sharpens another" we seek determined, hardworking, and authentic individuals who share the strive to reach their highest potential.
