Coach Jerrod Ryherd has over 25 years of experience coaching all levels of youth baseball including eight years as Head Coach for Shawnee Mission East, where he led the team to multiple KSHSAA 6A appearances, a 2016 State Championship title, and earned Kansas Coach of the Year honors in both 2015 and 2016. District as well as at Shawnee Mission East where he won a State Title and had the privilege of coaching 7 MLB Draft picks.

In 2018, wanting to offer a different brand of baseball for the Kansas City and Midwest region, he founded Prime 27:17 Baseball Club. The vison was to have highly competitive, national level teams, while offering the best training year-round.  Since it’s inception, Ryherd has helped develop some of the best talent in the college baseball scene at all levels from, Juco to Power Five including University of Kentucky, Texas, University of  Florida. He is one of the few coaches in the country with both nationally ranked high school & nationally ranked club teams. Ryherd balances his high expectations, intensity, passion for the game and humor to pull the best from each player.

Coach Ryherd has two boys, Cole (2027) and Brooks (2031), who both play in the Prime organization. His wife Missi, is a big help to the program. When he is not at the baseball field or training kids he enjoys hunting and fishing.

In 2002, prior to moving to the Overland Park area, he earned his Bachelors Degree in Health and Physical Education. In 2005 he completed his Master of Education, M. Ed. in Kinesiology and Exercise Science from The University of Kansas.
